after the drought
tall grass grows again,
in your kisses
the taste of sugarcane
once more

getting lost
in prairies grasses
taller than we were ---
twenty years later, still
how hard it is to find our way

reminds me of living near sugarcane fields as a kid and memories of black snow.

Reminds me of my vacation in Maui a long time ago. Also, the prairie grasses one reminds me of many visits to Oklahoma, where my parents grew up.

Nice capture.

Nice one(s).

Shane, Janet, Matt, and Vaughn - thank you for your comments.

Very nice capture of today's haystacks, Ildi. Sorry if I've got your name wrong ... I can't quite tell what is an i and what is an l. And, aurora, two nice whimsical tanka to complement the image.
Ray

Ray, thanks.

Ildi's name, were it written in lower case letters, would read "ildi". She is from Hungary, and yes, her work is fantastic! She photographs a great variety of subjects. I hope to use more of her work in upcoming days.

Good stuff, again. I do suggest some punctuation after L2 in the first one, unless you want to have grassy kisses..

Kirsty, thanks for pointing that out! I laughed out loud when I realized how it read. Don't know how I missed it.
