this is an excellent haiga. it's been alot of years since i've seen a room that looked like THAT though . . . their rooms still look trashed except now it's young women's clothing, CDs, DVDs, video games, books, unfinished art projects, more clothes . . . anyway, well done!
I know enough about baseball to understand this one (and know that I like it). I spy a Fisher Price farm house. I wanted one of those so bad when I was little! Good job, Collin.
This is a keeper, Collin. But, I thought it was a Chinese-toy-recall news photo. (Does lead paint cause shortness of breath?) I'd hate to see what the room will look like during the adolescent years. By then, dad will need an oxygen tank.
Aurora, didn't you have the Fisher Pricic shepherd staff and corral?
But, does Jack Miner celebrate September 29th -- Michaelmas Day -- with a big goose dinner for all of his friends? See http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/year/september.htm and scroll to Sept. 29. And, perhaps more important, does he keep the toilet seat up, so his convalescing geese can drink straight from the bowl?
p.s. I'm heading out to "my" Miner's Farm right now, where the geese have left for the season, but where there will be more than enough silly geese and old geezers.
Yeah, this is a common sight at my house these days. I have two sons ages 2 and 3. They're killing me, but I love it! These two kids provide a lot of the inspiration for what I write. Wrote a haibun about them to be published in the November Simply Haiku. Think of this room when/if you read it . . .
Aurora, I don't expect you to get this one, since "spring training" is a reference to baseball. :)

So kids' rooms still look like that, do they?
